This charming painting and others comes from a portfolio of mid-century artworks collected by a woman who lived in California's gold country hills. She was an artist herself, as well as a collector and art teacher. Some of the pieces are signed and dated [50's & 60s]; others were unsigned. But each piece represents an attempt at something unique in design or coloring. All, in some way, were experimental and avant-garde for their time and place.
