An expressive pair of human figures exquisitely handcrafted from richly colored wood and mounted independently on a metal stand. With the advent of colonization, African carvers began to produce work for European customers which emphasized more direct figural representation. This incredibly refined sculpture presumably celebrates the union of man and woman. Circa early to mid 20th century, artist and African country of origin unknown. See less
