Don Theiberger (d. 2015, and also known as Don Nose) was an American ceramist and instructor of pottery and art that operated the Platypus Studio in Livingston, New Jersey.
This vase was made in 1977 and measures 3 1/2" in diameter on the bottom, 4" in width, 9" in height, and has a mouth opening of 1 1/4" on the top.
Made of clay and drip-painted in earth-tones of beige, brown, greenish-grey and white, it's a stunning and formidable example of American studio pottery and the craftsmanship of the 1970s era. less
