Vintage creamer and sugar set that was most likely a wedding gift right after WW11 in the late 40's. The height of each piece with the lid is 5 1/2 inches and without lid, 3 inches. The circumference for each piece at the top is 2 1/4 inches and 3 inches at roundest part of body.
Both pieces are very clear, lightweight, delicate glass in an unusual pear-shape with hand-painted Lily of the Vally decoration. The organic shape of the creamer and sugar jar follows through to the lids, where a delicate, clear stem ends with a small green ball.
The lids fit beautifully and are quite beautiful in themselves. The green painting for the stems and white for the flowers is opaque on the both lids and bodies and very detailed and beautiful. See the close-up.
These pieces have been sitting on my breakfront and always get compliments because they are beautiful and unique. They would make a beautiful addition to any vintage glass collector, a Lily of the Vally lover or just for everyday use to add elegance to any table.
