This pair of two rare vintage 1950's Mid Century Modernist SACA Italian art pottery Sgraffito jardiniere urn vases is an incredibly special and unique pair to add to your collection.
The Art Deco style jardiniere urn shaped vases are artisan handmade in Italy by SACA in the early 1950's of ceramic pottery. The matte finish natural ceramic hand applied Sgraffito technique textural background on the vases exterior body are accented with gorgeous Mid Century Modern style raised relief glazed finish horses and decorative patterning design details in a beautiful variegated light aqua sea blue palette, with natural white smooth finish glazed interiors.
This pair of vases is an exquisite example of Mid Century Modern style Italian art pottery craftsmanship and design at its finest. The vases are signed, numbered and marked Italy on the underside bottom.
SACA ( Societe Anonima Ceramiche Artistiche ) was established in 1921 in Sesto Fiorentino Florence Italy. It was created by three former employees of the Richard Ginori Comapny, Renzo Guarnieri, Serafino Bittini and Ugo Grassi. SACA had an international reputation for both high quality and fine artistic aesthetics. The company continued to create first class ceramics until closing in the early 1950's.
The vintage Modernist art pottery jardiniere urn vases each measure 7 1/4" H X 5 3/4" DIA top opening X 4" DIA base bottom.
