Buffet, incorporates a thick sketch like rough black two point perspective, forming a trapezoid shaped grid to illustrate depth of field
This stylistic abstract and illustrative technique is applied to contour objects, and add vertical and horizontal detailing throughout the painting.
A very focal mid century work of art in scale and in representation of the bold "Kodachrome" colors so popular during this post war era of economic peacetime optimism
The work is an oil on Masonite board, framed in a dark walnut, carved, wooden frame. The piece is signed with only the letter A on the lower right hand corner.
The piece is not signed in the way Buffet signs some of his artwork, in a distinctive script, very visible, using both his first and last names.
However l found another copy of this lithograph where the date (during the 1950s) and his name were printed along the edges. The frame may be covering up this information. I do not know. I am using the other litho as my source.
The the lithograph is a vintage worked mounted in the 1959s on board. The background is thinly applied, but the black and colorful outlining is raised, likely applied by using a palette knife
The art in wonderful condition.
The frame, has some scuffing and normal wear commensurate with its age.
As the frame whisperer, l will refresh the wood and remove much of the scuffing slight spaces at mitre joints. A clamp and dab of glue will tighten that up.

The torn paper backing will be neatly removed, prior to shipping. Give that tree some dignity.
The frame is useable as is or can be painted a lighter or different color, like 50s teal!
Great over a fireplace next to your Tri-colored, three-head pole lamp!
