Excellent Empire-style decorative centerpiece bowl, from around 1860/70: standing on a tripod base, figural decorative base of gilded bronze in … more Excellent Empire-style decorative centerpiece bowl, from around 1860/70: standing on a tripod base, figural decorative base of gilded bronze in the form of three putti or cupids draped with vine leaves, which seem to carry on their shoulders the ornamented ring in which the round, massive bowl of black-green marble sits. The putti figures are distinctively finely crafted with their open, accentuated eyes. There are three very difficult to read monogram stamps on the bottom, probably "EH". A crystal glass bowl with the same figural putti base is known to be an oreignus of the famous Baccarat manufactory. Exceptionally high quality chasing and gilding.
