We purchased it with other items labelled Italy. This resembles marquetry but it is actually a stencil that has been sealed. By touch it is smooth. The drawers show the quality of the piece. The y move super smooth and are dovetailed on all the corners. The stencil appears to be a grey color and the piece is a golden brown. The legs are a deeper brown. The marble is gone and you will need to add. I think white would look the best. Or you can use a wood top stained to match. The design on the cabinet is bows, Fleur Di Lis and arches. I think it is an art piece that can blend with any decor.

Condition: The stencil is all present. The piece is solid. The drawers and keys work. Some nicks on the side which will be shown in the pictures image 3. You will need to get a piece of marble or wood for the top.
