This sculpture was a … more A bronze sculpture of a French Hunstman and his hounds mounted on a black marble base. This sculpture was a collaboration between two well-known French sculptures, Hippolyte François Moreau (1832-1917), who sculpted the huntsman, and Prosper Lecourtier (1851-1924), who sculpted the hounds. Moreau was known for bronze sculptures of human figures and his talent can be seen here from the realism of the man's face to his waistcoat and trumpet. Lecourtier was known for his works depicting animals which can be seen in the floppy ears of the hounds to their wrinkles in their faces. This piece is unique in the fact that it is the work of two artists working in a medium and subject matter that they were known for. Unmarked.

This work of art is both large and quite heavy in the 70+ lbs range. Underneath the marble base is a felt pad to help prevent scratching of the surface that will display this stunning piece. less
