An interesting palette of colours, contrast, and attractive composition and general shape.
White glaze panels on the front & back with painted scenes portraying birds in traditional lush settings.
The main body with a profusion of highly colorful butterflies & moths amongst flowers and fruit against the famille noire glaze.
Very detailed traditional borders of yellow, blue, green and deep orange.
Marked on the underside with the Kangxi reign mark in red.
Condition: Very good with the exception of a small rim repair with associated hairline which in no way detracts from the elegant beauty of this piece. See photograph. Barely visible but we need to mention.
Republic period. Probably circa 1940.
