The use of pastel colors to dramatic effect give the work a glamorous Art Deco feel. The painting is in the original weather wood frame, which the artist considered an integral part of the work.

Born in Los Angeles, Dusso (1918-1991) was the son of an art director at Paramount Pictures. He spent 8 years working as a makeup artist for MGM before leaving due to his "growing need for deeper personal expression." He anglicized his name to “Dusso” and was active as an artist in his native city of LA, and his home in Sherman Oaks, CA.

His work has been shown at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and hangs in the permanent collection at the Dallas Museum. His works have been used in movies such as "Man in the Grey Flannel Suit" and "Anything Goes" as well as TV series like "Perry Mason." less
