Ceramic stoneware object Designer and producer: Gerhard Liebenthron Information: Gerhard Liebenthron, Bremen *1925 †2005 Decade: 1980s This original vintage Studio Pottery Object was designed by Gerhard Liebenthron and produced in his own Studio in the 1980s in Bremen Germany. It is made of stoneware pottery ceramic and has a very unique brown, beige coloration and surface structure. the speciality of this object are the one of a abstract form on the front and back side. the bottom is marked with typical Liebenthron Producer signature GL and year signature 85. a very collectible and very rare item of the Liebenthron Collection. the object has a very sculptural form and in its size of 23.4cm in height, it is very impressive. straightforward and minimalistic design of the 1970s design era. This item is a wonderful addition to every modern home. Dimensions: Height 23.4cm Diameter 14.5cm weight: 1.98kg Condition: This item is in a very good vintage condition with patina. VITA Liebenthron: From 1945-1951 Liebenthron studied at the Staatliche Kunstschule Bremen (school of arts) in the pottery class of Else Krieg & Dorothea Colberg-Tjadens. in 1951 Liebenthron has been the Assistent of the scultpor Prof. Goersemann there. After Liebenthron finished his time at the Kunstschule he opened his own workshop in the Boettcherstraße, Bremen (in 1952). Gerhard Liebenthron's work can be found in several museums in Germany. the Keramik Museum in Berlin, the Fockemuseum in Bremen and the Hetiens Museum in Düsseldorf for example.
