A massive Antique circa late 1800s English Copper fruit or cake display compote probably from a grocer/bakery or perhaps to use in a grand estate. Quite a rare piece, and it’s in amazing condition for its age. No real dents or damage, just small marks and signs of use, and there is a slight tilt to one side due to a bump to the base. Beautifully crafted with dovetail joints or cramped seems, the base has been hand hammered into shape and the base and top edge are both rolled over steel.
This impressive compote measures 18” across the top by nearly 8.5” tall less
