A handsome pair of Art Deco candlesticks in heavy silver-plated metal with stems of deep cobalt blue by renowned silversmiths Puiforcat of Paris. Each candle holder rests on a round stepped base and features a bold stem of imitation lapis lazuli hardstone with gilt flecks. The candle holders are of a substantial weight and designed to hold standard size taper candles. Puiforcat produced these elegant Art Deco designs for several decades during the 20th Century.
Very good, undamaged condition, measuring 4 in diameter x 8.25 in height. Both stamped Puiforcat France underfoot with the company's pocket knife mark flanked by EP (for Émile Puiforcat, co-founder of the company) inside a square signifying plated silver. less
