- A French buffet cabinet, with fluted carvings, from the late 18th century. This antique cabinet from France features a rectangular-shaped … more A French buffet cabinet, with fluted carvings, from the late 18th century. This antique cabinet from France features a rectangular-shaped top, with profiled front corners that project outward in a canted fashion, over a case which houses a pair of dovetailed drawers atop a pair of recessed panel doors. Beneath the top is a pull out shelf (see photos for example of it being pulled out). Each of the drawers and door fronts have neoclassical style escutcheons. Carved fluting adorns the side posts and the center panel between the doors. The skirt trim is in clean straight lines, and this piece is raised on block style feet. This late 18th century French storage/buffet cabinet has a warm finish with lovely patina throughout; a beautiful and versatile piece. less
