Anna miquel andreu was a highly celebrated painter and film animator. Since her first solo exhibition in 1972, works by the artist have been exhibited in art fairs, museums and galleries across the continent. Born in barcelona in 1949, miquel began her artistic career by studying fine arts at the escuela superior de sant jordi, where she later became professor of drawing. The artist went on to continue her studies in dallas, texas, and obtained her doctorate at the university of barcelona, before becoming professor emerita at the university's faculty of fine art. Anna miquel's work is characterised by her innovative use of materials and highly original style. Behind her obscured forms and diverse media, an array of symbols and references are hidden in ways that captivate the viewer. This ingenious artist's work is undoubtedly uniquely her own. This highly innovative piece wonderfully captures miquel's essence and style. This extraordinary use of materials hints at ideas surrounding beauty in damage and repair, challenging our conceptions of what these notions mean.
