Angelic, yet powerful, Art Deco Female Sculpture, with strong mythological, goddess-like facial features. flocked with lusciously flowing tresses of golden hair.
This dramatically long work, signed and dated by the artist, Starr, is made from pottery or plaster, then finished in a coppery, golden glaze.
Although dated 1987, the piece has a very distinctive Art Deco design, an era that glorified female beauty, endowing them with strong facial features and mystical feminine power, often depicted as mythical goddesses.

Sultry, captivating, glistening.
No chips or cracks. The piece has a subtle crackleture finish.
There is some very minor rubbing of the metallic overlay glaze, consistent with age. There are no areas where the white pottery peeps through.
The rubbing is not distracting. It looks more like a variation in patina. It is visible more in my photos taken under extremely bright lighting than in normal ambient lighting conditions.
I did not polish or use any products on the finish.
Perhaps a gentle polish product could bring it to a higher luster, but l love the naturally occurring patina and subtle irregularities of age
The sculpture is a hollow matte pottery form with a metallic golden bronze glaze. Although hollow, the piece is weighty and substantial.
