An remarkable antique domed top double tea caddy
Stunning Tunbridge Ware mosaic inlaid borders, roses and foliage on exotic wood veneer background
It stands on four bun feet
The two containers are also with decorated tops
The original foil remains inside
The lock seems to be in working order
The Tunbridge woodware work originated in the 18th century in the English town of Tonbrige. The distinctive mosaic style, made by gluing sticks of different woods side by side and then slicing them into layers, came in the mid-19th century, and it is this form that is now generally understood by the term "Tunbridge Ware"
