the ashtray is made of glass and stainless steel (cromargan).
a small wmf stamp is engraved on the bottom.
the frame is tight and designed to prevent the glass pieces from falling out when stacked. The design, which draws rounded beauty while being rational, has a very modern look.

wilhelm wagenfeld is an important german industrial designer and a former student of the bauhaus art school. some of his designs are still developed today. Professor wagenfeld believed that everyday objects should be "cheap enough for the worker and good enough for the rich man".
