A large vase in thick amethyst glass with clear glass overlay and circular decoration on the neck. Designed by Paolo Venini in 1952, manufactured by Venini, Murano Venezia. Model number 1522. Acid stamp 'venini murano ITALIA' on the base. This model is the reinterpretation of a design of Vittorio Zecchin from the 1920s. It was exhibited at the 26th Venice Biennale in 1952. Good condition with traces of uses on the base and lower body.

In 1921 Paolo Venini and Giacomo Cappellin founded a company that would become world famous. Under the artistic directions of Vittorio Zecchin the Vetri Soffiati Cappellin Venini & C. become the whiz kid of the golden 1920s.
