Antique early 19th century English Staffordshire pearlware watch hutch in the form of a grandfather clock. Decorated in the neoclassical taste with Pratt colors by Dixon Austin & Co. circa 1820. Measures 11" tall x 6 1/8" wide x 3" deep. This was used on the mantel or bureau to hold a pocket watch when not in use. Good condition - minor professional repair.
Marked Dixon Austin & Co. pieces are found in several institutional collections including a related chimneypiece in New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art.
