Vintage Home is pleased to present this exquisite pair of ceramic Chinoiserie Monkey Figurines from the 1800s. These are stunning and when displayed together they command a room in their unique nature. The taller monkey stands almost a foot tall and is in amazing condition for its age. It features a green monkey walking downward on a faux wood base. His head is tilted slightly upwards and the face is precious. But, it's his tail curved up over his back, that makes you smile. The other monkey is walking on a uniquely polka dotted base. His face too is slightly tilted up so you can enjoy the facial expressions. One of his front paws is carrying a piece of fruit. This piece does have some cracking on the back side that is photographed. It is consistent with age and usage and does not affect the structural soundness of the piece. Both are a deep grass green which is unique and a perfect choice by the artist. Both have a ceramic stamped makers mark on the bottom.
