Back-rests are carved into decorative spades. We were told these are early factory chairs from the late 19th century by the woman who inherited them from her grandmother. Fabric and paint are all original. See less

Chairs are sturdy enough for occasional use but I would not recommend them for heavy daily use. These well-used and well-loved chairs show their age. Original velvet seats are faded and discolored. Black paint is worn off the rests more on one chair than on the other. Stretchers show wear where feet were placed repeatedly. One chair has a metal bracket repair along the back reinforcing it, visible in the last photo. less
