The paint finish is gently distressed … more Italian Cartouche-shaped giltwood mirror features a dramatic silhouette of curves, points, and deep relief. The paint finish is gently distressed and faded overall typical of the age, revealing some of the red hues underneath upon close viewing along with hairline cracks in the paint. The frame is solid carved wood, which we believe to be from the 19th century. Wire mounting is in place to hang horizontally, though holes indicate it was hung vertically at one point, which would be easy to reinstate. The mirror glass itself is not original. Made in Italy. less
