Charmingly decorated in raised enamel with a romantic design of white birds carrying baskets of fruit and flowers in their beaks, surrounded by floral sprays. A ruffled rim with light traces of gilded edging. Distinct Pontil marks on the underside of the base, made by the rod which is used by the artisans to hold the glass during shaping.

The hand painted enamel is exceptional. Lovely to have a pair.

Bristol—a richly colored glass of clear, dark blue, dark green, or amethyst, often touched with gilt—was made in and around the port of Bristol in southern England during the late 18th and early 19th centuries.
