The lidded … more Vintage: C.1980's, Maitland-Smith tessellated stone, decorative, lidded keepsake box, with original almond cream felted base bottom, protective padding. The lidded box has inlaid white stone details throughout the perimeter edge around, faceted edges, including the lidded top, which is a semi-vaulted, beveled top. While the interior is wood lined, hand-honed and carved as is the interior of the lidded top, as images indicate. The maker's mark sticker which was affixed has come off the piece, during travel back home, which stated, "Made in the Philippines for Maitland-Smith. Sorry we didn't realize it when we handled it and upon bringing back home, the sticker could not be found, to re-attach to the base bottom center location it was on. In excellent condition, as IF it was , "only," used for display. A prefect gift for that special someone, loved one, family or friend, but Valentine's is around the corner and upon us, this piece, all of Maitland-Smith Keepsake boxes, have their own unique design esthetic, but mark my word a wonderfully, crafted piece for North America and Maitland-Smith'sfollowing is such and due to some of these boxes, along with the crafting involved. The stone have their own unique nuanced colorations, weathering, and unavoidable to make known that it is not man-made the material, but fostered through in that natural evolution and process.
