This rare and striking Art Nouveau bust features a young woman sculpted by the esteemed Riessner, Stellmacher & Kessel (RStK) Amphora factory. Founded in 1892, RStK Amphora was a prominent producer of high-quality porcelain known for its innovative designs and meticulous craftsmanship. The factory, located in what was historically known as Turn-Teplitz (now Trnovany, Czech Republic), was renowned for its decorative porcelain with intricate and detailed motifs. Their pieces are less commonly found today, making them highly collectible and sought after by enthusiasts and collectors.
Crafted in the late 1800s to early 1900s, this heavy bust showcases exquisite details, from the floral motifs on her dress to the meticulous styling of her hair. The elegant décolletage corset, a fashionable style of the era, is adorned in blue and gold, with some paint highlighting real gold. Her hair is styled in a Victorian low ponytail, enhancing the authenticity of the piece.
The base of the bust is stamped with "Turn Teplitz Bohemia RStK" and "Amphora." The numbers on the base appear to read 1240 and 23.
