Ceramic stoneware object set of 2 Designer and producer: Gerhard Liebenthron Information: Gerhard Liebenthron, Bremen 1925-2005 Decade: 1980s This original vintage Studio Pottery Object was designed by Gerhard Liebenthron and produced in his own Studio in the 1980s in Bremen Germany. It is made of stoneware pottery ceramic and has a very unique brown, ochre and blue coloration and surface structure. the bottom is marked with typical Liebenthron Producer signature GL and year signature 80 and 81. very collectible and very rare items of the Liebenthron Collection. each object has a very sculptural form and in its size of 26 cm in height and 9 cm in diameter, it is very impressive. straightforward and minimalistic design of the 1980s design era. This item is a wonderful addition to every modern home. Dimensions: Height 26cm Diameter 9cm. Condition: This item is in a very good vintage condition with patina. VITA Liebenthron: From 1945-1951 Liebenthron studied at the Staatliche Kunstschule Bremen (school of arts) in the pottery class of Else Krieg & Dorothea Colberg-Tjadens. In 1951 Liebenthron has been the Assistant of the sculptor Prof. Goersemann there. After Liebenthron finished his time at the Kunstschule he opened his own workshop in the Boettcherstraße, Bremen (in 1952). Gerhard Liebenthron's work can be found in several museums in Germany. The Keramik Museum in Berlin, the Fockemuseum in Bremen and the Hetiens Museum in Düsseldorf for example. He has been a member of the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Kunsthandwerk Bremen.
