They were mass-produced for all the schools in the United States from the 1920s to-1940s. It's made from heavy pine wood and iron. The iron is used for the cage of the desk that holds the books and papers and also to form iron platforms to attach the desk to the floor. I found the desk in a Bonhams House Auction in West Hollywood California. See less
