This work represents Henri d'Artois, Duke of Bordeaux, better known under the title of Count of Chambord, also pretender to the throne of France under the title of Henri V in the 19th century.
This prince is the famous "miracle child", son of the Duke of Berry and grandson of Charles X. He was born in 1820 after the assassination of his father, while the Duchess of Berry was already pregnant. The Count of Chambord was the legitimist pretender who opposed the party of Orleans. He lived in exile from 1830 to 1871 and remains in history for having refused the Restoration which was proposed to him in 1873 because of his attachment to the white flag and his refusal of the tricolor flag.
Bust of royalist propaganda at the time, the Count of Chambord is represented with a drape on a pedestal decorated with a royalist coat of arms of France.
This Bronze of 1872 will delight the lovers of historical and charismatic works.
