Colourful stylized rosettes in … more A rich navy field displays five geometrically lobed red medallions,each with four palmettes as internal decor. Colourful stylized rosettes in green,ivory,red and medium blue line up at the edges of the field. The squared volute knots at the center of the medallions call to mind the similar but rounded rosettes in the borders of Talish rugs. This piece must come from close to the Shahsavan and Talish border areas of Persia and the Caucasus. The "S" main border can be found on many Caucasian and NW Persian rugs. The original end weaves are partially intact. There is age related wear on this runner, but it is still a solid rug. less
