Irénée Félix René Rochard (1906-1984) is a French ornamental sculptor known for his representations of animals. Passionate and fascinated, he gives soul to his works through his meticulous observation of nature.
This bronze represents two gazelles in motion, alert, looking in the same direction. One, with its head raised, seems curious about the world around it and attentive to the slightest noise. The other, more fearful, is following closely behind its fellow gazelle.
These charismatic gazelles are highlighted by the artist in this poetic and intriguing scene.
