Josef Hurka is considered by many as the most talented and commercially most successful Czech lighting designer of the second part of the 20th Century. Almost every Czech household had at least one piece designed by him somewhere in their homes.

This lamp has a minimal form and is a striking red colour, but the 'C’ shaped steel rod is the main design feature. The switch is placed on the top of adjustable lampshade. Despite being designed in 1960's, the lamp is very contemporary.
This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
