Jose pomes, born in 1940, paints scenes depicting life in his native spain with superb skill and technique - from landscapes to cityscapes and interiors. A follower of the french impressionist albert marquet (1875-1947), the artist is known for his highly atmospheric and emotive works, often with moody skies or shadowy alcoves, but contrasted with vibrant splashes of mediterranean colour.
