Water is not only an important element in our lives but also in the world of ceramics. In the project Panta Rhei, water is reinterpreted as a creative force in the manufacturing process of porcelain. In a series of experiments, the various effects of water on porcelain and the process of slip casting are demonstrated. Capillary, erosion and gravitational effects on the one hand, but also the different states of the working material porcelain with the associated properties are combined in a creative way in order to develop a new design process.

The colour graphics in the Capillary Effect Vase are achieved through ice cubes.

'water carries everything'
The porosity of the porcelain enables the absorption of water. A capillary effect is made visible by immersing the vessel in the colour and then immersing it in water. As a result, the paint moves together with the absorption movement of the water. Thus the colour intensity as well as other colour effects are directly influenced by the duration of the immersion and can vary. The colouring of the objects is determined by the water and can only be influenced to a limited extent. Thus each object becomes unique.
