this first series produced by les choses is an aesthetic exploration of the primary element. With its bold lines and brutalist design, the brasero n°2 reflects designer yoan claveau de lima's commitment to not let form be dictated by function. These pieces, conceived as true sculptures, are steel monoliths that embody the age-old human need to rationalize the natural power of flame.
after several months of prototyping, yoan claveau de lima was able to find the ideal composition and the right assemblies in order to obtain pieces resistant to temperature rise. The use of corten steel, thanks to its predisposition to self-patina, inscribes the pieces in a long time.
the meeting between the tension of the lines, the brutality of the material and the sensuality of the flames, offers to this series an accuracy at the same time aesthetic and functional. Here more than a symbolic opposition, a translation of being one with the element and sharing with his loved ones: anchoring in the ground, multiplication of the faces of the object, proximity of the hearth, food.
the robustness of the pieces, the unalterable material and the sincerity of their creation make them subjects inscribed in an intergenerational temporality.
