The sgabel the ''GANSER'' takes its name from a typical figure of the life of Venice, which is gradually disappearing, the gansér, the gondolier who helps the gondolas when docking. The stool is a pole section of Briccola, which is cut at the ends to allow support on the ground and the seat, but on the vertical surface retains all the typical signs of erosion of the Briccole.
The Briccole are the undisputed protagonists of Venice and characterize its skyline. Oak poles first shaft used to signal to boats the limit of the deepest part of the lagoon, navigable without risk, guiding them in their path and avoiding that they remain stranded in areas of shallow water and in the foundations of Venetian palaces.
Periodically the ''Briccole'' are replaced after having been sculpted by molluscs, which, through a work made of holes with absolutely perfect round shapes, leave the sign of their passage.
A pole of Briccola, remains immersed in the lagoon on average between 10 and 150 years (depending on the conditions of high and low tide to which it is subjected), then, corroded by marine flora and fauna at tidal excursion, is replaced. This is a material that tells and is part of the story, which is recovered, selected, carefully cleaned and worked to build unique and fascinating furnishings and accessories.
