At the time of its introduction in the mid-fifties one of the few European chairs to be manufactured entirely of steel wire. Cees Braakman clearly was inspired by the chair designs introduced in the early fifties by Herman Miller and Knoll.
A very comfortable light-weight chair would match any type of interior very well. Comes with a blue seat pad. The upholstery feels great. Chrome in excellent state and no broken wires.
After the Second World War, when construction materials were in short supply, steel wire proved to be a cheap, functional, and strong material for making chairs. Living rooms tended to be small and this transparent chair needed less space than traditional furniture.
