This ceramic wall art was made in the geometric abstract art manner during the 1960s. It comes from a communist hotel in Czechoslovakia and was designed by esteemed artist Milan Mihalko in 1969. The hotel where the wall comes from was a secret place for spa and rehabilitation centre using healing mineral waters and mud of the area. It was especially used by the government officials during the communist era.
This impressive ceramic wall consist of square tiles made of clay with white glaze. The tiles are handmade, each was hand pressed into prepared form and then glazed into white glaze. The tiles have different textures of glaze and finish. It goes from very smooth into a more textured one. The main picture is meant to present the power of healing water and mud, hence the place of the hotel.
