Hand-signed by … more Landscape ''Eolie Island'' in an original artwork in watercolor realized by the French artist André Ragot ( 1894-1971). Hand-signed by the artist on the lower left margin. Titled on the rear. Excellent conditions. Included a white Passepartout: 49 x 69cm The artwork represents a poetical river landscape along the mountains. The artwork characterized by soft and delicate strokes by harmonious and congruous colors. The artwork makes a strong feeling of peace and calmness by the well-defined composition and minimalistic expression of Nature. André Ragot was also a recognized intimate watercolorist, and left many works and sketches taken from life, in particular of young sailors (he met all his models and each of his works keeps the name, profession, year, etc. the place in all the ports he visited). He also brought back numerous watercolors from the Far East, Indochina and the Middle East (Syria, Egypt, Turkey and Jordan). André Ragot ( 1894-1971), is a French naval officer, resistant and watercolorist. less
