Gabriele Galantara (1865-1937): He was a journalist and one of the greatest Italian caricaturists and satirical designers. Born in Montelupone from a noble Fano family, he completed his technical studies at the National Boarding School of Macerata. Bonded by tenacious friendship with Guido Podrecca, he created with him the ''Bonomia ridet'' in which he made his debut as a caricaturist revealing exceptional talents. Always by his side, in 1892 he founded the weekly ''L'Asino'', for which he designed his most biting and most controversial tables that caused complaints, convictions and arrests. Galantara also contributed in a decisive way to the birth of the socialist newspaper ''L'Avanti'', on which he drew the front page cartoon until 1911, when he was arrested and replaced by Giuseppe Scalarini In the last years of his life he continued to draw and paint and also collaborated with the humorous newspaper ''Marc'Aurelio'' with anonymous cartoons, concluding his intense and glorious career.
