Mixed media installation representing a red and orange flame on a total black background with a heart on the upper side that recalls an ex-voto. The work is a mixture of different media and is a typical example of the personal art and style of Basilè. The work has been realized by the Italian artist Matteo Basilè (Rome, 1974). His career begins in the early ’90s as one of Europe’s first artists merging art and technology. Basilé owns the extraordinary capacity to conciliate opposing ideas such beauty and grotesque, natural and artificial. He has exhibited in major museums and galleries in Italy, Europe and China. He is considered one of the most important exponents of the digital art. For ten years in his art he mixed digital culture with classical iconography, re-inventing the idea of portraiture.
