Woman is an original print realized by Massimo Campigli in the 1960s. Colored lithograph. The graphic is printed on a sheet folded in half. Entire dimensions of the sheet: 25.7 x 38.5 cm. The lithograph represents a portrait of a woman in an oval shape. The facial features and the body's posture are typical of the artist's productions. Massimo Campigli (Berlino, 1895 - Saint-Tropez, 1971) was an Italian painter. In 1921, he participated in the Salon d'Automne with the painting ''L'arrotino''. In 1922, Leonce Rosenberg, a famous Parisian merchant and dealer, bought some artworks of the artist. In 1926, Campigli exhibited at the ''First exhibition of Novecento'' in Milan. In 1927, he could live with his paintings: he exhibited in Paris, Zurich, Dresda and Amsterdam. He took inspiration from Etruscan art for his artworks. In 1961, an important monograph was published in Paris, its name was ''Les idoles de Campigli'' by Andrè Chastel; some years later he was appointed Academician of San Luca. Campigli served as a foreign correspondent in Paris in 1919 before joining the “Paris Italians” artist group that also included the artists Gino Severini and Giorgio de Chirico.
