Good conditions except for some ripples and some foings along the margins. The artwork is attached on passepartout: 52.5 x 38.5 cm Signature print on lower right. The print is from the portfolio Le Café Concert a suite of lithographs on japan paper by Lautrec and Henri-Gabriel Ibels, printed by Edward Ancourt & Cie and published in 1893 by l'Estampe Originale. In this portfolio, working with the artist Henri-Gabriel Ibels and the writer Georges Montorgueil, Lautrec created an ode to the café-concert. Montorgueil’s essay argued that café-concert are place for people from all walks of life to relax and communicate. This print represents a portrait of Anna Thibaud a French singer that had a wide repertoire, attractive stage presence and excellent voice. She performed at important venues in Paris during a lengthy career. Henri-Gabriel Ibels (Paris, November 1867 – February 1936) was a French illustrator, printmaker, and painter. He was a member of Les Nabis from 1889. Ibels drew his inspiration from life on the street, from cafés, etc. He collaborated with Toulouse-Lautrec and became involved in the avant-garde theater. He exhibited at the Salon des Indépendants in 1891. He realized graphic design and advertising, lithographs and posters for theaters, cabarets, and book illustrations.
