Pressed glass egg cup is a fanciful decorative object designed by Karel de Bazel for Leerdam Glass factory in 1920s. Dimensions: cm 6 x 6 (diameter). Excellent conditions, as perfectly new. Karel de Bazel (whose complete name was Karel Petrus Cornelis de Bazel, 1869-1923) was a famous Dutch architect, engraver, draftsman, furniture designer, glass artist and bookbinding designer. The pressed glass is a technique of realizing glass with a piston to press it into a mold. Firstly patented by the American inventor John P. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
