Rare Pantry Drip pantry with Support Height, from the Breton Region.
This Character Furniture is entirely made of Solid Chestnut.
In the upper part, it opens by a single door, discovering two Storage Spaces separated by a Mobile Shelf, placed on Fixed Shelves. The panel sees its Frame carved with Naive Foliage and its Angles cut in Corners, thus drawing Shells. In its Center is represented a Face in profile, that of a Breton woman arranged with her Headdress of Yesteryear.
Underneath, this Provincial Furniture has a Drawer, 7 cm deep. Its front has the same foliated reliefs as those on the door.
The Drainboard part, at the bottom, is made up of Blackened Wood Spindles on its three visible sides and in its corners. These elements harmonize with the small ball feet in the front. The back legs are straight and unpainted.
The Hinges, the Entrance, the Lock and Key of the door, as well as the Drawer Pull Knob are in Perfect working order and Original.
As a historical parenthesis, these pieces of furniture from the past, originally used to protect and preserve food, were mainly reserved for peasants. Nevertheless, they had an interesting Wood Quality.
One will appreciate this typically Breton pantry for its reasonable dimensions and its versatility, which will offer a place in any place for daily use.
