The Lion is a common charge in heraldry, it traditionally symbolism courage, nobility, royalty, strength, stateliness and valour, because historically the Lion has been regarded as the "king of beasts".

The Scallop shell symbolism travellers to far places or victorious naval commander. The four shells also represent, England, Ireland, Scotland & Wales.

These would have been displayed in the Halls on ribbon, they have been recently framed to showcase their vibrant colour and to preserve them. less
