His family … more Michel Tyszblat 100 x 120 cm Oil on panel Signed Michel Tyszblat was born in Paris in 1936. His family originally came from Poland. He studied under André Lhote in 1956 and Robert Lapoujade in 1960. His art is considered close to narrative figuration. He saw himself as a ''half-figurative artist''. In 1968, he worked as a ''painter-adviser'' and helped to treat mentally ill patients in a psychiatric hospital. From 1973 to 1990, he was a member of the jury of the Prix de Vitry. From 1982, he taught fine art and art history in the Architecture school in Versailles. His passion was the piano jazz, which became a theme in his painting. less
