Antonio Cortes, signed. Oil on canvas representing a pastoral scene, with farmers herding cattles on a river bank under a cloudy sky. Signed A. Cortes in the bottom right corner. Antonio Cortes (1827-1908) was a Spanish painter at the Royal Court of Madrid. In France for the 1855 Universal Exhibition, he was known as an excellent country life painter. Close to the « Groupe de Lagny », he was the father of the well known painter Edouard Cortes. This piece has an attribution mark,
