The tables were made in his atelier and always commission based. The table looks sober but also natural and pleasant. The colors are calming and still modern looking today. This table is the work of an artist. Its composition is originated from a process only an sculptor like Kingma could manage. This table is considered a piece of art and an important object in Ducth mid-century design. It is a very early example of a coffee table by the Paul Kingma. The early examples are from the 60s, often square shaped and made of organic mosaic stones. Another detail for determine his early work is his typical hand signature in the concrete.
